row särkelä-bassett (b. 1994) is a textile and performance artist and professional costume designer born and raised in taos, new mexico. särkelä is currently immersed in the ways that fiber acts as a record of human relationships with the land, other humans, and dance. särkelä is recognized as an Emerging New Artist by Harwood Art Center, has shown work at CURRENTS New Media, and is trained as a weaver by Centinela Traditional Arts in the Rio Grande style. särkelä is the recipient of the Andy Warhol Foundation grant for their costume design, was recognized with the gold award for their costume design for Visit ABQ, and have received scholarships with Judith Sanchez Ruiz and Penland School of Craft for their dance and weaving.
